Edinburgh A.C.'s Neil Renault won this years' race with a time of 24:00 . This year saw another record breaking field with 809 runner's completing the course.

9pm Thursday is deadline for submitting changes to entries

While the organisers are grateful to those who have already made the effort to communicate changes caused by the recycling of competitors' numbers, they would respectfully ask that they are not informed after 9pm tonight(Thursday) of any other changes. Should you wish to make changes after the deadline, please ensure that you make them in such a way as to avoid adversely affecting the prize lists.

2010 T-shirts

The organisers regret to announce that there are no T-shirts for sale this year.

A T-shirt commissioned by Williams Bros, the suppliers of the finishers' bottle of ale, will be awarded to each prizewinner, the residual shirts to be disbursed at random to members of the beer-garden audience who answer successfully a question like 'Which is your favourite Williams Bros bottled ale?'

Provision of Extra Toilets for Women

Women will be relieved to know that toilets will be available in the Church Hall which is located at the War Memorial in the centre of the village. Entry - which will be signposted - is via the disabled access on the main road.

Saturday 5th June and no number received?

The final batch of numbers was posted out on the morning of Wednesday 2nd June - if you have not received your number by Saturday 5th June please contact John McKay as soon as possible.

Entries en route will, of course, be processed but please do not send any new entries as of Sunday,30th May - the race limit has been reached!

Did you submit a multiple entry?

If so, you will have received all of the numbers in the one envelope. Please take care that you are in possession of the correct number i.e. the number with your first name written on the back. We are grateful for your compliance as it facilitates accurate processing of the results.

Friday 14th May and haven't received your number?

If you posted your entry on or before Friday, 7th May and have not received your number by the following Friday (14th May!), please e-mail John McKay to that effect.

Travel to Kinghorn on racenight

Parking in the village is somewhat limited on racenight. There are fairly regular bus and train services to and from Kinghorn - the last bus is at 2:06 a.m. (Saturday!) arriving at Waverley Bridge at 3:00 a.m. while the last train for Edinburgh is timed at a fairly conservative 11:06 p.m. (still Friday!). There may be some slight changes in the summer timetables - we'll try to keep you informed. Please avail yourself of public transport if at all possible - you know it makes sense! 1000 lucky finishers will each receive a bottle of ale crafted by the master brewers at Williams Bros Brewing Company in Alloa. Scott and Bruce Williams started off over 20 years ago with Fraoch, the first in the current collection of Historic Ales.

lightly hopped in the traditional Scottish style with fruity malt aromas and a toffeeish mouth feel.

Birds & Bees

a bright, golden summer ale brewed with blend of Belgian pale malt, Cascade and Bobek hops with a late infusion of fresh elderflowers and lemon zest. Fruity, aromatic and deliciously refreshing!

Ceilidh

hops from the Czech Republic and the USA, Belgian pilsner malt, German yeast and our own Scottish water produce a crisp, citrousy lager.

Ginger Beer

made from barley and wheat but no hops, it contains lots of ginger, some lemon juice and undisclosed spices! The perfect recipe!

Entry forms available

Entry forms for this year's race are now available for download here. Entry forms will also be available shortly from Kinghorn Community Centre. Closing Date for entries is Saturday 29th May, 2010.

2010 Race date confirmed

The date for the 2010 Black Rock '5' Race has been confirmed as Friday, 11th of June at 7:45PM. Entry forms will be available on this site from March 1st. As in previous years, the race will be pre-entry only.

Further details about this year's race will be announced in due course.
